 The spirit of London 2012 lived on as a capacity crowd watched the final day of action at the Investec World League Semi-Finals in Chiswick, London.

 Argentina, Australia & England secured qualification for the upcoming World League & World Cup Finals. 


South Africa 3 – Spain 2 (7th place playoff)

Lilian Du Plessis scored twice to lift South Africa to seventh place in the Investec Hockey World League Semi-Final tournament in London.

Anabel Flores Conde fired wide with seconds remaining, missing the chance to take it to a shootout!

 USA 6 – Italy 0 (5th place playoff)

 

Paige Selenski scored a 10-minute hat-trick on her birthday as the U.S.A. scored five second half goals on the way to a thumping 6-0 win over Italy, securing fifth place at the World League Semi-Final in London in the process.

Argentina 3 – China 2 (3rd place playoff)

 Argentina won 3-2, taking the bronze medal, thanks to a last minute Carla Rebecchi goal!

England 0 – Australia 3 (Final)

England were excellent in this tournament, beating number 1-ranked Argentina in the semi final, but were unable to cap it off with a trophy.

Just 12 minutes into the final Ashleigh Nelson put Australia ahead, and Kellie White doubled the lead with 12 minutes to go in the first half. The second half saw few chances at either end, but Emily Smith scored a close-range goal to bring the final score to 3-0, and see the ‘Hockeyroos’ crowned champions.
