Grays player Matt Daly to miss World Cup

Grays sponsored player England's Matt Daly has withdrawn from the World Cup squad after picking up an injury in training on Sunday.

The squad was training at its pre-World Cup preparation camp in Doha, Qatar, where Daly picked up the grade two hamstring tear; an injury that is likely to keep the 26-year-old out for between six and eight weeks.

England’s head coach Jason Lee said, "Getting injured this close to a World Cup is a major blow for any sportsman. I feel for Matt. I am pleased with the support shown to him by the rest of the group. Although this is a setback to the group, we are fortunate that the injury is to a forward where we have cover."
