Day 4

The unprecedented security here at the World Cup on the request of the competing nations and sanctioned by the FIH is extremely intense - screening similar to you experience at an airport takes place at the entrance gates and on entering the stands and other buildings as well as time consuming spot checks by one of the thousands of Dehli Police force walking around the concourse inside of the ground. On days when India are not playing the Police seem to outnumber the spectators. There are also security cameras scanning the crowd similar to those used at a Premier league football ground  local derby.

In addition there are also similar security measures in place at the teams hotel and other adjoining hotels in the area.
