Robert Kemperman - Rising star with the Hockey World at his feet Robert Kemperman's rise to the top has been nothing short of sensational. This time last year he had not even played in a Junior World Cup and now he finds himself playing in a World Cup semi final. Robert's hockey story starts at the Union Club near Nijmegen where he started playing at the age of 5, having been taken to the club by his parents Rob and Joseth and he hasn't looked back. He joined Dutch league giants Den Bosch and has continued his development under the coaching of Frank Stofmel. This rise to the top has included his selection for the Dutch Under 16and Under 18 squads before he was included in the 2007 Junior World Cup Squad in Singapore where the Dutch team won the silver medal. He has already played in the European Cup, Punjab Cup in Chandigarh and now finds himself back in India at the World Cup " My hockey hero was Teun De Nooijer and now I find myself playing alongside him - I can't really believe it " Robert is a skilful midfield player who plays on the left side of midfield with pace to help him get up and down the field Robert like many players has had to adapt to the new rules being played here " I like the new rules as it opens up options around the circle " Robert certainly looks heading for a big future in the game.
